Scheduling & Appointments
You can schedule an appointment through our secure client portal. New and current clients have separate links:
New Clients: Request an Appointment
Current Clients: Client Login
If you’re not sure who you’d like to work with, we recommend reading our counselor bios to learn more about each therapist’s specialty and style. Still unsure? You’re welcome to contact Heather, the owner of Life Chapters Counseling, who can help you find the right fit.
Yes, appointments can be rescheduled or canceled through the Simple Practice client portal. We kindly ask for at least 24 hours’ notice to avoid any cancellation fees.
Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled time will incur a fee. This policy helps us manage our schedule and offer timely appointments to all clients.
Yes, we offer both in-person and telehealth sessions to accommodate your preferences and needs. You can choose your preferred format when scheduling your appointment.
The frequency of sessions varies based on individual needs. Typically, clients start with weekly sessions, but this can be adjusted in collaboration with your counselor.
Yes! We understand the value of consistency in scheduling. If appointments are made and kept regularly, clients are typically able to reserve a recurring weekly time and day for their sessions.
Please discuss your preferred schedule with your counselor, and we’ll do our best to accommodate and hold that time for you.
Some of our counselors offer evening and weekend sessions. Availability varies, as each counselor sets their own schedule.
You’re welcome to check the online scheduling portal for open times, or reach out to your counselor directly to inquire about their specific weekday or weekend availability.
If you arrive late to your session, it will still end at the originally scheduled time to respect the next client’s appointment. We encourage punctuality so you can get the most out of your time with your counselor.
If you are 15 or more minutes late, the session is considered a no-show, and a no-show fee will be applied in accordance with our cancellation policy.
We understand that sometimes things come up between scheduled sessions, and you may feel the need for additional support. You are always welcome to request an earlier appointment or add an extra session when needed.
If we’re billing insurance on your behalf, please be aware that some insurance plans limit how many sessions can occur in a given week. In certain situations, exceptions can be made — your counselor can help determine what’s possible based on your plan.
If you’re a self-pay client, there are no restrictions, and you can schedule additional sessions as needed. Just reach out through the client portal or contact your counselor directly, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
