At Life Chapters Counseling, our graduate student interns offer high-quality, low-cost counseling for children, teens, and young adults. Each intern is carefully selected, trained in play therapy principles, and directly supervised by Heather Piña-McGhee, LPC-S, RPT-S to ensure excellent clinical care and ethical practice.

Madeline Johnson
Graduate Student Intern

Madeline is a master’s-level counseling intern with a strong foundation in supporting children in both behavioral and clinical settings. Her experience as a Registered Behavior Technician has provided her with hands-on work with neurodiverse children, ages two through ten, focusing on emotional regulation, social skills, advocacy, and educational development. Passionate about working with children and adolescents, Madeline is excited to expand her skill set by incorporating Play Therapy into her practicum experience. She brings curiosity, warmth, and energy to each session, always striving to create a safe and respectful space where clients feel comfortable to explore and grow. While her primary focus is on children and adolescents, Madeline also enjoys working with young adults navigating life transitions and personal growth. She is dedicated to fostering a supportive environment that promotes emotional well-being and personal development for all her clients.
Tatiana Trejo

Tatiana Trejo is a graduate student intern who is honored to serve and work with the children and adolescents are part of this practice. While pursuing her bachelor’s degree, she earned a Certificate in Early Childhood Intervention from The University of Texas at Austin, building a strong foundation in child development and early support. Additionally, she also has gained valuable experience as a teacher working with children ages 2 to 8 years old in both traditional educational settings and special education environments. She brings a caring and gentle heart into her work, creating a safe, nurturing space where children and adolescents feel supported, understood, valued, and seen. She is excited to deepen her understanding and skills here at Life Chapters Counseling PLLC.
