Pre-teen & Teen Counseling
We typically work with pre-teens starting around age 10 and continue through the high school years. Sessions are tailored to the developmental and emotional needs of each age group.
Teen counseling often blends talk-based and activity-based approaches. While some teens are ready to talk openly, others may prefer creative or movement-based tools. Our therapists are trained to meet them where they are and build trust first.
Most sessions are one-on-one with your teen. However, we include parents through check-ins and scheduled parent consults so you’re informed and supported throughout the process.
We help teens with anxiety, depression, social challenges, family changes, identity concerns, school stress, and more. Therapy is a space where they can explore emotions safely and build confidence in handling life’s challenges.
That’s very common. We move at your teen’s pace and focus on building connection first. Often, after a few sessions, teens begin to feel more comfortable and even look forward to having a space that’s truly their own.
Yes, as long as a parent or legal guardian has completed all required paperwork, teens who are licensed drivers are welcome to bring themselves to their sessions.
We may occasionally need to reach out for updates, scheduling, or other communication, so we just ask that parents remain available if something comes up. Our goal is to support your teen’s independence while keeping you informed and involved in the process.
When a teen turns 18, they are legally considered an adult and must complete all required consent forms themselves. At that point, they can also choose whether to sign a release of information allowing us to communicate with you as a parent or caregiver.
If a parent or guardian will continue to be the primary contact for billing and payment, we will need the teen’s written consent for that as well. They can choose whether that release is limited to billing purposes only or if it also allows us to share updates about their care.
We’ll walk your family through this transition and make sure everyone feels clear and supported.
