Child, Teen & Adult Counseling in
Mansfield, TX
Hi, I’m Kara! I believe everyone deserves a space where they feel safe, understood, and accepted for who they are. As an LPC-Associate at Life Chapters Counseling in Mansfield, TX, I provide counseling for children, teens, and adults, with a special passion for helping children through Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT).
Play is a child’s natural language, and I love helping children express emotions, build confidence, and work through challenges through play and connection. I also enjoy supporting teens and adults as they navigate difficult emotions, trauma, and life’s challenges.
I help clients navigate:
✓ Anxiety & Depression – Supporting clients through worries, sadness, and overwhelming emotions.
✓ Emotional Regulation & Big Feelings – Helping clients understand and manage intense emotions.
✓ Trauma & Difficult Experiences – Providing compassionate, trauma-informed support.
✓ Neurodivergence (ADHD & Autism) – Supporting individual strengths, needs, and differences.
✓ Parenting Support – Helping parents understand behaviors and strengthen connections with their children.
My approach is warm, authentic, and collaborative. I believe even challenging behaviors often develop as ways of adapting to our experiences, and I work to help clients recognize their strengths and feel empowered to grow.
My Background & Approach
My counseling approach is grounded in person-centered and trauma-informed care, with an emphasis on building genuine, supportive relationships.
I specialize in Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) for younger children and tailor counseling to the needs of teens and adults. My additional approaches include EMDR, TF-CBT techniques, mindfulness, somatic interventions, and parent coaching.
I believe that understanding the connection between our emotions, behaviors, and nervous systems can help create meaningful change. I strive to provide a space where clients feel accepted, empowered, and supported as they navigate their experiences.
A Little More About Me
Outside of counseling, I love music and art! I originally studied music therapy in college and still enjoy singing in a choir. I’m also a self-taught polymer clay artist and find creating art both rewarding and therapeutic.
When I’m not working, you can often find me at a concert, browsing a craft store, or spending time at the dog park with my three rescue dogs!
Let’s Connect!
Whether you’re seeking play therapy for your child, counseling for your teen, or support for yourself, I’d love the opportunity to connect.
